The company EUB 2020 d.o.o. Beograd has opened the tender for the execution of works on sports facilities in Belgrade which will host the 5th European University Games and the tender for the construction of a sports village.

The subject of the first public procurement are the reconstruction of the facilities of the Sports and Recreation Center Dr Milan Gale Muskatirovic and the construction of sand sports fields on Ada Ciganlija.

As said in the specification of the works within the tendering documentation, the Center for Sand Sports will be built on Ada Ciganlija, meant for sand volleyball and handball matches and tournaments.

The complex of 2,808 m2 will have three fields for sand handball and five for sand volleyball, a protective fence around the complex and a rope net around the fields.

The plan is to also have containers which will serve as locker rooms for the teams and the referees, toilets and storage spaces, and the necessary power installations and water, sewer and TC connections are planned as well.

The contractor is required to first prepare all the necessary projects and then use them to carry out the works under a turnkey system.

When it comes to SC Milan Gale Muskatirovic, the plan is to rebuild and adapt the 25. maj facility, entailing locksmithing, flooring and wall-painting works, installation of new sanitary systems, installation of new heating devices, a VRV air-conditioning system, automatic temperature sensors, installation of new high-energy lighting and other works.

Bids may be sent by February 26.

The second tender pertains to construction works within the Students’ City, which will be renovated and turned into a sports village for the purposes of the University Games. The works entail the demolition and disassembly, masonry, wall-painting, electrical and various other works in all four facilities of the Students’ City and the students’ restaurant.

The bid submission deadline is also February 26.

The 5th European University Games, to be hosted by Belgrade, were supposed to be held in 2020, but have been moved for 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. After the decision on the postponement was made in April, the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the Organization Committee of the 5th European University Games in Belgrade rescheduled the event for July 14-27.
