Serbian Association of Employers: Question of Cryptocurrencies to be More Clearly Defined by Law

The Serbian Association of Employers supports the main goal of the Draft Law on Digital Property: regulation and upgrade of the capital market, use of digital technology and prevention of misuse in this market, the association announces and adds that they believe that the complicated language used in the draft law, as well as the option of having essential things regulated subsequently, through bylaws, will lead to uncertainties and lack of legal security for everyone who does business in this field.

– The main confusion regarding the draft law pertains to the so-called cryptocurrencies, which leads to uncertainties about the tax treatment, way of use, right of disposal, transactions… The Serbian Association of Employers believes that this law must unequivocally determine the status of cryptocurrencies, which is to say that this issue should not be further complicated through bylaws – the statement says.

That is why the Association, they point out, sent their comments to the Board for Education, Science, Technological Development and Information Society of the National Assembly of Serbia, as well as the initiative for representatives of the Sector for Information Technologies and Telecommunication of the Serbian Association of Employers to attend the board’s session.
