– During next week, a test ride on the reconstructed railway route is planned, and then the technical acceptance – says the PR of the Serbian Railways Infrastructure, Nenad Stanisavljevic.
– If everything goes as planned, regular rail traffic will be available by the end of November. Passenger traffic between Senta and Subotica will be carried out in line with the time schedule.
Used materials from the main railways, but also new materials, were used for the reconstruction. The tracks, the ties and the ballast have all been fully replaced. Upon the completion of the reconstruction, train speed will increase from 10-20 km/h to 80 km/h for passenger traffic and 60 km/h for freight traffic. The load bearing capacities of the railway will increase from 16 to 22.5 tons. The estimated value of the works is EUR 15.4 million, and they are done by the Novi Sad-based company ZGOP.
