Memories of past days - Days of Ohrid in Belgrade's restaurant Bled from March 29 to April 4

The taste of famous Ohrid's trout with Tikveš wines may wake up some nostalgic memories of the days when the summer spent in Macedonia was not considered as travel abroad. If you only love fasting food and want to try some old dishes or evoke the memory of some past travel, restaurant Bled, one of Višnjica's catering facilities, organizes the Days of Ohrid in the heart of Belgrade.
Fish restaurant Bled, which is situated at the corner of Budimska Street, Vojvode Dobrnjca Street and Despota Stefana Boulevard, accross the road from Botanical Garden, will be the host of chefs and wine makers from Macedonia between March 29th and the Easter, April 4th.
- Restaurants have always been the places for dates, business negotiations, chance meetings and intimate hopes, good eating and nice drink, leisure pastime and talks about politics, the time we live in, the cities we've been in, the people we've met, good and bad years - said the people in Višnjica.
- Restaurant Bled exists for more than 100 years and it has never changed its name. Even in these disturbing times, the name of Slovenian lake bothered nobody. Maybe it is because of the peaceful and quiet water its name reminds us of or because of the first falling in love and great friendships our people experienced there – the President of Višnjica, Žarko Ratković, told eKapija.
Fasting food with light wines
Monastery dishes, fasting Gravče Na Tavče (baked beans) and fish specialties with Tikveš wines may make the last week of Easter fasting different.
- Tikveš is the region famous for quality wines that are adapted to the mentality of consumers in this area. These light wines are usually drunk with fish specialties. By the way, they are consumed a lot in our facilities. Thanks to the suppliers from Macedonia, we lowered the prices of these wines by up to 20%. Another good thing is that all wines can be consumed from the bottles of 0.2 and 0.7 liters, which makes it possible for guests to try more wines – says Ratković.
According to him, this offer will, hopefully, raise the people's awareness of healthy nutrition, as well as stimulate them to think about fasting in the Great Fasting Week.
Love is measured by the size of sacrifice
The growing number of headlines in the media that invite people to eat healthy food are not accompanied by increased consumption of fish in Serbia.
- I think that the interest in fasting food, including fish, has not grown as much as the interest in religious rituals. Although we are generally satisfied with the operations of restaurant Bled, they can always be better, especially if the people's purchasing power and the culture of nutrition start improving.
- People say that the quantity of love is measured by the size of sacrifice – Ratković concludes.
However, Bled's chefs led by their colleagues from Ohrid will try to persuade you that fasting does not necessarily require sacrifice.
