Technosteel to Build Production Facility in Ruma – Three Additional Facilities Planned by 2023

The Municipal Council of the Ruma Municipality has reached a Decision on selecting an organization for assessing the market value of the construction land, specifically a land parcel No. 12156/15 K.O. Ruma with the area of 19,867 m2. Namely, the Italian company Technosteel expressed the intention of purchasing two hectares of land located near Ruma Interchange which is a new investment being realized in the next period, the Mayor of Ruma, Sladjan Mancic stated.

As the Municipality website says, the Ministry of Finance, specifically the Tax Administration office in Sremska Mitrovica will determine the land value.

– The investment trend in our municipality continues. What makes me glad is that Technosteel wants to have the 4,000 m2 production facility finished by March or April and they plan to build three more facilities by 2023. We received the letter about intent of purchase, and after we get the land evaluated we will publish a tender and after we transfer the ownership to them we can begin project realization. I must point out that Technosteel operates in Sremska Mitrovica since 2014. Two years ago they began operating in our municipality too under a lease. At present they employ 40 workers and they plan to employ 35 more, Mancic said.

He added that at the moment they are not “chasing” investments with the prospect of employing of 1,000 and more people:

– We don't have those people and therefore we welcome these kind of investments at this time. Especially when we take into consideration that half of those employed would have to be professional workers. On the other hand, we will generate revenue through property tax and land sale as well as hiring construction workers and eventually we will generate revenue through income tax too.
