Economic growth and recovery require support of the state and the chamber of commerce to large companies as well, in order to mitigate the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, because, without a stable growth of large companies, especially those like Matis, which are the carriers of the development of a whole field, there's no successful development of the small ones, it was pointed out at a meeting between representatives of Matis Group, the Development Agency of Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

During the pandemic, large companies solved their problems by relying on their own sources, but they need support in order to grow further, the CCIS says on its website.

– The CCIS will continue working actively on creating proposals of measures of support to large companies for the purpose of supporting their investments, facilitating their business operations in the country and abroad, removing the obstacles to the continuation of the exports and the penetration of new markets – said Marko Cadez, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.

The owner of Matis Group, Dragomir Lazovic, announced that the company planned to open four new production facilities in the next period, three of which in Ivanjica and one in Kragujevac, and that the company, which carries the development of the entire Ivanjica area, needed support for that investment.

As he pointed out, these are facilities for the production of flat furniture and mattress components, where around a hundred new workers will be employed.

Matis, which has successfully operated in the furniture manufacture business for 25 years, employs more than 1,000 workers and is one of the pioneers in implementing dual education, was presented with the possibilities of the realization of this investments and the use of the current aid programs of the Development Agency of Serbia and the Development Fund.

The meeting was attended by Danilo Cicmil, adviser to the president of Serbia for investments, and Rados Gazdic, the director of the Development Agency of Serbia.
