Egis to Prepare Preliminary Project for Third Line of BG Subway – Plan to Connect Vozdovac and New Belgrade

The French company Egis, which has prepared the general project and the preliminary feasibility study for subway lines 1 and 2 in Belgrade, is currently preparing the preliminary project for the third subway line as well, said the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic.

– The third line is not fully defined, because the preliminary project is only just being prepared, but it should connect Vozdovac and New Belgrade – he said, as reported by Beoinfo.

Let us remind that Vecis previously announced that the third line should connect Vozdovac, the new bus station in Block 42 and the New Belgrade station through Prokop, Slavija and the Republic Square.

According to the general project and the preliminary feasibility study for subway lines 1 and 2 in Belgrade, prepared by the French company Egis, routes were adopted for subway line 1, which will connect Zeleznik and Mirijevo, 21.3 kilometers long, with 23 stations, and subway line 2, which will connect the Zemun Railway Station and Mirijevo, 19.2 kilometers long, with 20 stations.

The construction of the Belgrade Subway, as announced earlier, should begin by the end of 2021, with the construction of the subway depot in Makis. The future depot should be located between the Makis Classification Yard and the Sava Main Road, and the plan is for it to feature facilities for the maintenance and storage of spare parts and equipment of the subway system.

The City of Belgrade and the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency have opened the public procurement procedure for the preparation of the technical documentation for the equipping of the Makisko Polje location.
