Tender announced for construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Morača - investment worth 600m EUR


Montenegrin Ministry of Economy announced on February 26, 2010, a public ad for collecting pre-qualification bids for participation in the tender for construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Morača.
As the Minister of Economy, Branko Vujović, announced, the pre-qualification procedure will last prior to end of April. After that, the Government of Montenegro will make the list of bids, based on which the bidders will be able to apply for participation in the second phase of the tendering procedure.
The Government set certain financial and technical-expert conditions for participation in the tendering procedure. The financial condition is that the bidder has invested minimum 600m EUR in several individual projects or 300m EUR in one project to the date.
When it comes to technical conditions, the bidder must have an adequate experience in construction of power plants with the power and other characteristics similar to those of the plants that will be built on the Morača river.
The whole tendering procedure, as it was announced earlier, should be finished by the end of the year and followed by the selection of investors for construction of four hydroelectric power plants on the Morača, of which total power would amount to 238 MWh, and they would be annually producing 721 GWh of electric power.
It is expected that the international tender for construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Morača will be announced by the end of this year.
