BAJATOVIC: Gas Price Not to Increase, Serbia to be Ready to Receive and Transport Gas from TurkStream to Hungary by the end of 2020

The director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, said for Vecernje Novosti that gas prices would not go up in 2020. He announced that Srbijagas would inform all the potential individual consumers on the new model of connection the next week.

– Everyone who wants to will be able to connect right away and to pay the costs without an interest over the next 36 months along with the gas bill. The price of the connection will be optimized and the same in every part of Serbia – Bajatovic said.

When asked about the gas from TurkStream, Bajatovic said that, by the end of the year, Serbia would be ready to receive and transport gas to Hungary and that Bulgaria claimed that it would complete its compressor stations by October 2021.

– In Bulgaria, as well as in Serbia, long-term lease of capacities for a period of 20 years was taken out and all the conditions are met for the switch to traditional project financing. This means that, by the end of the year, Serbia will be ready to receive and transport gas to Hungary. The works on above-ground structures – the measuring and block stations and the dispatch center – are in progress. Our partners from Bulgaria claim that they will build their part of the gas pipeline by the end of the year, which creates the conditions for the gas to flow to Serbia. Bulgaria will complete its compressor stations by the end of October 2021, which will enable the full capacity of transport by the Balkan Stream through Serbia – Bajatovic told Novosti.
