Increase in price of electricity by 10% on April 1st


- The price of electricity in Serbia will be increased by 10% on April 1st - the Assistant Minister of Energy of Serbia, Milutin Prodanović, announced today (January 25th, 2010).
Prodanović said to the press in Sevojno that earlier announced increase in price of electricity was postponed until the end of the heating season.
Prodanović said that the Ministry of Energy of Serbia and the Energy Agency of Serbia (AERS) had given consent for the price of electricity to be increased by 10% on January 1st, 2010, but the ministries of economy and trade had not approved that.
The Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) asked for the price of electricity to increased by 10% at average on January 1st, 2010. The price of 1 kWh now costs about 4.5 euro-cents.
