"Industricum" has not paid 2.9m EUR for "Matroz" yet

- Company "Industricum" has not paid 2.9m EUR for takeover of Mitrovica-based factory of cellulose and paper "Matroz" yet, and the final deadline for that payment expired on December 31st - Stevan Romakov, the President of the Municipal Council of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions, confirmed.
He reminded that that deadline was included in the agreement that had been signed on September 30th in Sremska Mitrovica by the Minister of Economy and Regional Development of Serbia, Mlađan Dinkić, and the President of "Industricum", Jan Drisens.
"Matroz" was sold after seven unsuccessful attempts. Romakov expressed the expectation that the Assembly of creditors of "Matroz", the company in bankruptcy, extend the final deadline for payment for another month.
"Industricum" wants that this takeover makes it not only the owner of the factory's facilities, but also the land the facilities are built on. The units of "Matroz", once the leading manufacturer of cellulose and paper in Serbia, occupies the surface of nearly 50 ha.
The new owner was assured by the people from the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environment that the change in regulations would make it possible for the company to become the owner of the land, which should be followed by the payment of 2.9m EUR.
"Industricum" does not intend to renew the production of cellulose and paper, but to have an aluminum recycling factory worth 75m EUR built in that place.
The works were supposed to commence in January, but now the works are expected to begin in February.
