MIHAJLOVIC: Transit traffic functioning, 3,500 trucks enter Serbia

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, said that the transit traffic was functioning properly and pointed out that 3,507 trucks had entered Serbia the previous day, of which 1,500 for supply in Serbia.

– Truck drivers passing through Serbia and not exiting the truck have 12 hours to go through the country. If the driver is arriving to Serbia, they are put in the quarantine until the truck is unloaded and then move on, and if they are not driving anywhere further, they are put into isolation – Mihajlovic said on RTS. She added that it was important for truck drivers to stay healthy.

Mihajlovic emphasized that she believed that there would be further restrictions in all forms of transport.

– I believe that air transport would be stopped entirely in the upcoming period, which doesn't mean that the Nikola Tesla Airport will not be available for humanitarian and other purposes – Mihajlovic said.

According to her, the internal traffic in Serbia is functioning in line with all the implemented changes, except during the curfew and for trucks in transit escorted by the police.

– The internal intercity and city traffic might be stopped as well – the minister says.
