Bor to get two new heating plants powered by woodchips and gas – Tender for preparation of project-technical documentation opens

Around 90% of households in Bor are connected to the remote heating system of the Heating Plant, which has been incurring losses in the past years, and the City Administration therefore plans to have new capacities built, which would increase the efficiency of the supply. The tender for the preparation of the project-technical documentation for obtaining the necessary permits for the construction of two new heating plants in Bor has opened.

The plan of local authorities is to build three facilities for the purpose of providing a reliable and efficient supply of heating energy:

1. Heating Plant 1 powered by woodchips and gas 1x10 + 2x10 MW
2. Heating Plant 2 powered by woodchips and gas 1x10 + 2x10 MW
3. Pre-pumping station for the lowering of pressure within the remote heating system

– By measuring the spent heating energy, it was determined that the amount of heating energy needed to heat individual facilities is 130 to 150 W/m2. This shows the state of the heated facilities (inadequate building materials, insulation, sealing of windows etc.) and the state of the distribution system (insulation, numerous leaks and constant emptying and refilling of pipes). Furthermore, due to valves being non-existent or malfunctioning, it is not possible to empty only the necessary sections, but entire main pipelines, which causes great losses in the refilling water and the heating energy – the documentation says.

Bids may be submitted by March 20, 2020.
