Fruit brandy production boosted by more than 25% in last five years

The production of the fruit brandy in Serbia has been increase by more than 25% in the last five years while at the same time exports rose by 42%, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (CCIS) said.

Along with the most popular and the most prominent plum brandy, the famous slivovitz, which is also exported to USA, CCIS told Tanjug that the last few years saw an increase in production of quince, pear, apricot and raspberry brandy as well.

According to the The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia data first five countries by participation in total exports were Montenegro with 19.3% in total exports, USA with 14.5%, Croatia with 13.5%, Germany with 11.6% and B&H with 10.1% total exports while the total exports of other countries amounted to 31%.
R.B. Global exports 60% of its total production

According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management there are around 530 registered strong alcoholic drinks producers in Serbia. The director of the R.B. Global distillery from Uzice, Ivan Bogdanovic told Tanjug that the 60% out of their total yearly production is being exported.

This distillery, established 25 years ago ,produces 100,000 liters of premium quality fruit brandy, Bogdanovic says. He further states that they exported the most to USA, Canada, Australia, Russia and almost all of the former Yugoslav republics but that they sell their brandy in Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Austria and Great Britain as well.
