Professor Jasna Ristic says that she is very proud of her students.
– The most important thing to me is for students to work on themselves. Whatever we do, we try to do a good job and we then present the results of our work at contests which recognize that kind of endeavor – professor Ristic says.
One of the awarded students, Andrej Savikin, explains in more detail what he and his colleagues have invented.
– We started with the well known concept of producing electrical energy from solar energy. With the help of a portable weather station, which also measures factors other than the weather conditions, such as the position of the Sun, the position of the solar panel is adjusted for maximum efficiency – Savikin explained.
If this system were implemented on a much larger scale, it would enable a much more efficient usage of solar energy and a much more efficient production of electrical energy.
The professor says that students are interested in such things, but that the job of the teacher is to see which student can reach what level and whether their ideas can be realized.
According to her, there are those who can achieve much more and they should be provided with all the conditions to do so.
