Government to adopt Regulation on feed-in tariffs - incentive purchase prices for electricity obtained from renewable sources

- The Government of Serbia will adopt the Regulation on feed-in tariffs (incentive purchase prices for electricity obtained from renewable sources) at today's meeting (November 20, 2009) - Petar Škundrić, the Minister of Energy of Serbia, told "Politika" yesterday.
According to his words, the adoption of that Regulation will provide the guarantee for those potential investors who obtain the status of authorized manufacturer that they can sell produced energy in our market at the determined prices on the basis of stimulus measures.
There are feed-in tariffs for all renewable energy sources, so that the stimuli will be approved to all those who build hydroelectric power plants of up to 10 MW, electric power plants powered by biomass, bio-gas, landfill gas, wind, solar and geothermal energy, waste and combined production powered by fossil fuels - Škundrić explained.
New Regulation will be put in effect the day it is published in "Official Bulletin", while its application should start on January 1st, 2010.
The plan is also that the authorized manufacturers of energy from renewable sources sign the contract with the Electric Power Company of Serbia, which would purchase all energy produced in that way at the feed-in tariff prices. That cost would be covered by consumers, and the contract should be signed on period of 12 years.
