New line for production of cold-processed vegetables in company "Higlo" - investment worth 174.2m RSD

The Provincial Secretary of Science and Technological Development, Prof. Dr. Dragoslav Petrović, opened the new line for production of cold-processed vegetables, based on new technology, in company "Higlo" in Horgoš on November 13th.

It is the investment worth 174.2m RSD, 10m RSD of which was provided by the Executive Council of Vojvodina through the Provincial Secretariat of Science and Technological Development. This unit, which is the 63rd unit opened within the scope of the programme for support to new technologies, will enable employment of 24 workers in production and another 40 through various forms of cooperation.

The Provincial Secretary of Science and Technological Development, Prof. Dr. Dragoslav Petrović, expressed the satisfaction with the fact that the new unit had been opened in such renowned company as "Higlo", of which successful performance was of significance not only to the economy of Vojvodina, but also of whole Serbia, since 75% of production was exported to the market of European Union.

- Thanks to the programme for support to new technologies, company "Higlo" obtained the means to put French state-of-the-arts equipment for vegetable processing in operation - said Professor Petrović and added that the unit in "Higlo" was the 27th unit opened in the field of processing industry.

Dragan Simović, the CEO of company "Higlo", thanked the Provincial Secretariat of Science and Technological Development for support in realization of that significant investment.

- We are exporting major share of production to foreign markets for years, although we do our best to offer certain products to local market because of their favorable prices - said Simović and added that the capacity of the line for cold-processing peas amounted to 7,000 tons per year, 75% of which was exported to the market of EU.
