The household appliances maker Gorenje will be split into two companies as part of group integration a year after it was taken over by Chinese conglomerate Hisense, with the management becoming a separate company.

Hisense Europe will be headquartered in Ljubljana and provide corporate support services for all Hisense companies in Europe, STA reports.

On the other hand, Gorenje will consist of the production company in Velenje and the subsidiaries of Gorenje Group.

The company says in today's press release that adapting to a new business environment requires a further strengthening of efficiency and simplification of Gorenje Group's organization.

– These final steps of integration include the splitting of the management and the production, the establishment of joint regional service centers and the merging of the group's retail companies abroad – the Gorenje press release specifies.

Although the seat of Hisense Europe will be in Ljubljana, some administrative jobs will remain in the Velenje location.

Due to the problems in finding qualified workers, certain joint services for Hisense's companies in Europe will be set up in Velenje and discontinued in some other parts of Europe, where they have been less useful.
