Germans donated scanner for quick input and update of tax applications to Tax Administration of Serbia


Representatives of German Association for Technical Assistance (GTZ) donated 12,300 EUR worth of scanner for quick input and update of tax applications to the Tax Administration of Serbia today (September 23, 2009).
The Assistant to the CEO of the Tax Administration, Zoran Vasić, said that that machine was intended for Tax Administration's Regional Center in Kragujevac, and that another three scanners should be provided within the next month for the centers in Niš, Novi Sad and Belgrade.
- In a very short time, the scanner can update large number of tax applications, as well as complete administration, which will improve quality and work of the Tax Administration - Vasić pointed out.
The Assistant to the CEO of the Tax Administration for IT and computer support, Dejan Vidojević, said that that gift would be of great assistance, but that its use required lot of preparation works.
- We must finish the process for rationalization of operations, as well as meet two goals - create the client-oriented Tax Administration and ensure voluntary execution of tax obligations - said Vidojević.
According to his words, the scanner is important in transient period because it will free about 1,500 employees from manual input of applications.
Vidojević pointed out that the rationalization of operations prior to 2011 would result in creation of new information system, which would make it possible for tax payers to do e-business with the Tax Administration.
The Manager of the GTZ office in Belgrade, Uwe Stumpf, said that, by presenting that gift, the Government of Germany and GTZ wanted to give support to reform of Serbian tax system.
