Seminar in Banja Luka organized by Athens Stock Exchange and Banja Luka Stock Exchange with the aim of connecting capital markets of seven countries


The seminar organized by the Athens and the Banja Luka stock exchanges started today (September 21, 2009) in Banja Luka within the scope of joint project "X-net", of which aim is to connect the capital markets of seven countries.
- The project is implemented by the Athens Stock Exchange in association with stock exchanges in Banja Luka, Belgrade, Skopje, Cyprus, Egypt and Jordan - said the CEO of the Banja Luka Stock Exchange, Milan Božić, and announced the visit of local representatives of broker companies to Athens with the aim of their cooperation in creation of joint trading platform.
Although the forming of that joint trading platform was first time mentioned in 2007, Božić said to the press in Banja Luka that it had been necessary that Greek Stock Exchange finished required infrastructural projects that would enable connecting of the brokers from aforementioned countries by means of unique platform.
Presentation of that project may be organized at the end of October in Banja Luka as well.
- The project will create infrastructural preconditions that will make it easier for broker companies in RS to trade on the regional stock exchanges and for regional broker companies to trade on the Banja Luka Stock Exchange through broker companies in RS - said Božić.
"X-net" project will improve international transparency of the market of the Banja Luka Stock Exchange, and it will make investments in the capital market of RS easier for foreign investors.
The seminar will gather over 60 representatives of broker companies - members of the Banja Luka Stock Exchange, investment funds management companies, companies on official stock exchange market, and representatives of the capital market institutions.
Lecturers at the seminar are the representatives of the Athens Stock Exchange.
