Tax Administration of Serbia collected 327.7 billion RSD during first eight months of year 2009 - 98.2% of projected tax incomes


- "Tax Administration of Serbia" collected 98.2% of projected tax incomes during the first eight months of this year - Dragutin Radosavljević, the CEO of "Tax Administration", said today (September 2nd, 2009).
He added that the value of taxes that the Tax Administration was to collect, such as tax on incomes, tax on company's profit, value added tax (VAT) and excise taxes, amounted to 327.7 billion RSD out of projected 333.7 billion RSD. According to his words, that is a "very good result" when we have in mind the situation in economy and the crisis that his Serbia, and it is the result of the new organization and methods of work in the Tax Administration.
Radosavljević specified that collected VAT was larger than planned.
- I expect "Tax Administration" to achieve greater incomes this year than they planned - said he.
Radosavljević also said that the economy sector owed about 61 billion RSD to "Tax Administration" at the moment, about 47 billion RSD of which can not be collected because the companies were either in bankruptcy or in restructuring process, or facing liquidation.
- Tax Administration is working hard these days on creation of unique registry of tax payers, and we expect to have such registry with over 4m subjects by the end of the year - he added.
