Open competition for preliminary solution for cloverleaf interchange near Ada Ciganlija


Directorate for Building Land and Construction of Belgrade announced the open competition today (July 10, 2009) for design of preliminary solution for construction of cloverleaf interchange for the new bridge across the Sava river, near Ada Ciganlija.
According to the ad published in newspaper Politika, the cloverleaf should connect Radnička Street with the cloverleaf interchange near Hippodrome, Vojvode Mišića Boulevard and inner main ring.
The aim of the open competition is that the construction in phases be enabled, which will resolve all the traffic problems in that zone before the section of inner main ring is opened for traffic.
It is necessary that the conditions for road, pedestrian, bicycle and railway traffic are made, and that the solution is environment-friendly.
The condition for participation in the open competition is procurement of dossier prior to July 24, and the deadline for submission of works is September 10, 2009.
If minimum 10 works are submitted before the expiration of the deadline, the jury will grant the prize of 1m RSD for the best solution, two second prizes of 500,000 RSD and three third prizes of 300,000 RSD.
The results of the open competition will be announced two weeks after the expiration of the deadline for submission of works.
Construction of the bridge across the Sava river, near Ada Ciganlije, which connects Belgrade's boroughs of Čukarica and New Belgrade, commenced in December 2008, and it should be finished in autumn 2011.
The bridge across the tip of Ada Ciganlija will be 929 meters long and 45 meters wide, with the main span of 376 meters and pillar 200 meters high. The contractor is Austrian company "Porr", while the value of the bridge is 118m EUR.
