French "Veolia Transport" interested in "Severtrans"


French company "Veolia Transport" is interested in takeover of bus transportation company "Severtrans", of which headquarters is in Sombor. The Sombor-based company has been bought by businessman Mile Jerković, but the contract has been cancelled due to unfulfilled obligations, so that the majority package of stocks is in the portfolio of the Share Fund of Republic of Serbia.
The representatives of French company have visited "Severtrans", and they have confirmed their interest in one of the most significant bus transportation companies in Serbia at the meeting with the officials of the city of Sombor.
Klas Gothold, the Manager of "Veolia" for Serbia, said that that company dealt with all kinds of transportation, except for air transportation, as well as with preparation and treatment of water and waste and energy management. The company operates in 30 countries of the world.
"Veolia Transport" owns to bus transportation companies in Serbia - it bought Požaravac-based "Litas" in 2006 and Belgrade-based LUV, which deals with city transportation, in 2007. Its annual turnover in Serbia amounts to 17m EUR, it has 215 buses and 542 employees.
