It has not yet been decided whether the new vehicles will be used for city or intercity transport. As the company told Novosti, this will be decided at a later date.
At the moment, the average age of the buses is 14 years, and the rolling stock of the public transport company in Novi Sad currently consists of 267 buses. The previous procurement of new buses took place two years ago, when five standard buses were bought. A new procurement was planned last year, but didn't take place, because of the problems at Ikarbus, GSP Novi Sad says.
The new buses, as said in the announcement of the public procurement procedure, are simple and easy to use and are adapted for persons with disabilities. These eight vehicles must be equipped with air-conditioning devices and should have a minimum of 24 seats.
