At a session of the Energy Committee of Republika Srpska and Serbia, it was agreed that the construction of these facilities, the power of which will amount to over 180 MW, would equally contribute to the energy stability of Serbia and Republika Srpska, said Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic.
As the ministry announced, the sixth session of the Energy Committee was presided over by Antic and Minister of Energy of Republika Srpska Petar Djokic. The session was held ahead of the joint session of the two governments in Belgrade.
– We have prepared an overview of all the joint activities and we will present the prime ministers with all the steps we've taken in the past period that concern projects of strategic importance for both sides that pertain to using the potential of the Drina headwaters – Antic said.
Supplying RS with gas
The possibilities of supplying Republika Srpska with gas and the solving of property issues between the two gas companies were also discussed at the Energy Committee session.
Djokic said that Serbia was in a process of developing large gas projects and said that it would be able to support Republika Srpska in the future when it comes to the building of gas infrastructure and the security of gas supply.
– In that sense, it is important that an agreement on the solving of property-legal relations will be signed on March 11 in Banjaluka between Gaspromet Pale and Srbijagas, which will solve this open issue and the problem that is now over 20 years long – Djokic said.
