- Cement factory "Holcim Srbija" from Popovac is the first-ranked bidder on the tender for 70% of capital of river transportation company DTD "Kamenko Gagrčin" from Sombor – the Privatization Agency of Serbia announced today (May 11, 2009).

According to the announcement, "Holcim" has offered 1m EUR for takeover of that Sombor-based company and the investment programme worth 1m EUR, and it has unconditionally accepted minimum obligations from the social programme.

The second-ranked bidder on the second tender for sale of company DTD "Kamenko Gagrčin" is river transportation, building and trade company Hidro-baza from Belgrade, which has offered the price of 100,000 EUR and 1m EUR worth of investment programme.

The Privatization Agency will start the negotiations with company "Holcim" about the contract on sale of DTD "Kamenko Gagrčin" and, in case they end in success, the sales contract will be signed within 30 days from the day the negotiations end.

The tender was announced on December 18, 2009, the deadline expired on March 2nd, while the bid was also submitted by Novi Sad-based "Dunav grupa agregati", which failed to meet the tender terms.

The first tender for sale of company "Kamenko Gagrčin" was declared as unsuccessful at the end of October 2008, but it was not explained on that occasion why the Tender Commission rejected the proposal of the Privatization Agency for ranking of bids.

The bids on the first tender were submitted by cement factory "Holcim Srbija", Bulgarian company "Brikel" and the consortium comprising Belgrade-based companies "Napred" and "Hidro-baza" and company "Karin komerc" from Šid. The bid submitted by the consortium was rejected because it did not meet the qualification terms of the tender.

Company "Kamenko Gagrčin" deals with river transportation, that is, shipping, and it owns the pier in Veliki Bački Kanal in the vicinity of Sombor and the fleet of 20 vessels for loading, unloading and transportation of dry dispersed freight, with total capacity of 12,600 tons.
