Serbia and Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation through joint projects

At the second session of the Intergovernmental Serbian-Kazakh Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation in Astana, held on Monday, October 8, 2018, information on the main macroeconomic indicators in the two countries, the current state, perspectives of development of the trade-economic cooperation were exchanged, as were the opinions of the possibilities of expansion of bilateral cooperation, says the official website of the Government of Serbia.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy Dragan Stevanovic said that he believed that the economic cooperation of the two countries would intensify by the next session of the Commission, through the realization of concrete projects in the fields of common interest.

He thanked the Republic of Kazakhstan for a constructive approach to the negotiations of Serbia with the Eurasian Economic Union and also for Kazakhstan's support to the maintaining of Serbia's territorial integrity.

The delegation of the hosting country was headed by the vice minister of national economy of Kazakhstan, Asset Irgaliyev, and the session took place ahead of the visit of the Serbian president to Kazakhstan.

The intergovernmental commission has a very important role in the bilateral relations of Serbia and Kazakhstan as an instrument of creating and monitoring the economic development of the two countries, which influences the scope and the structure of bilateral economic cooperation, the Ministry of Economy notes.
