Regional acknowledgment for Alibunar wind farm – Elicio considering new projects in Serbia

The Alibunar wind farm has been pronounced the best project in the field of renewable energy sources in Southeast Europe in 2018.

At the XII International Forum on Clean Technologies, held on October 2-3 at the Provincial Parliament in Novi Sad, the award was received by the CEO of Elicio, Ludo Vandervelden:

– This award is another confirmation of the successful operation of our team, but also of the good investment environment in Serbia, as well as the support of state organs to the realization of RES projects. After a successful completion of the Malibunar wind farm and last year's commissioning, we also completed that construction of the 42-MW Alibunar wind farm this year. But that is not all. We want to invest in new projects and are ready to do so, and our experts are looking into new business opportunities. We inform all our business partners and contacts about the positive business experience, which we believe is important for attracting other investors and an improved image of Serbia in the process of joining the EU – Vandervelden said.

The Forum was opened by the assistant minister of mining and energy, Milos Banjac, and, in addition to the provincial secretary for energy and construction, the gathering was attended by presidents of municipalities, public companies, as well as prominent local and foreign international professors.

The Alibunar wind farm was built on the left side of the class I state road Belgrade-Vrsac. It consists of 21 turbines, a substation and the connection powerline. The total value of the investment is EUR 80 million, of which EUR 60 million from the credit of the IFC of the World Bank Group and private banks, whereas Elicio invested EUR 20 million. Elicio is a branch of the Belgian group Nethys.
