Construction of Regional Flight Control Center Belgrade started in Surčin


- Construction of the building of Regional Flight Control Center Belgrade in
Surčin, in which 18m EUR will be invested, started on March 27th –
the Flight Control Agency of Serbia and Montenegro announced.
That investment will be financed from the loan approved by the European
Investment Bank, and its realization should be completed prior to year 2011.
According to the Agency’s announcement, construction of the building of the Regional
Flight Control Center is a part of the Project for modernization and
improvement of air transportation control system.
- The Project for modernization of flight control system of Serbia and
Montenegro is an integral part of European strategy for improvement of regional
air transportation safety – said Nikola Stankov, the President of the
Administrative Board of the Agency.
He said that the new building would have up-to-date equipment that would enable the management of expectingly larger scope of transportation prior to year 2020 and make it possible for Belgrade to become the regional air transportation safety center.
