"European prospects of southeast Europe at the time of challenges" – regional meeting dedicated to economic crisis on February 3rd in Belgrade


Regional meeting dedicated to economic crisis will be held
tomorrow (February 3, 2009) in Belgrade. It will be attended by the
representatives of six countries.
The meeting called "European prospects of southeast Europe at the time of
challenges – facing economic and energy crisis” will be presided by the Deputy
Prime Minister of Serbia, Božidar Đelić, and the Prime Minister of Serbia, Mirko
Cvetković, will address the attendees.
The meeting will be attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Macedonia, Ivica
Bocevski, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mladen
Zirojević, the State Secretary for European Integrations in the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Croatia, Davor Božinović, the Secretary General of the
Ministry of European Integrations of Albania, Arben Kasahu, the Assistant to
the Minister of Finance of Montenegro, Milorad Katnić, as well as the Secretary
General of the Regional Cooperation Council, Hido Bišćević.
According to the announcements of the Government of Serbia, they will be
discussing the prospects for expansion of European Union in the conditions of
current economic and energy crisis and forthcoming European elections, as well
as regional cooperation in the process of Euro-integrations and complete visa
liberalization for the countries of southeast Europe.
It is expected that the joint statement will be signed and that European Union will be asked to provide financial aid for the countries in the region and, thus, help them overcome the consequences of the economic crisis.
