Plane tickets might become more expensive by 25% by the end of the year due to rising prices of fuel and labor costs, airline bosses warned at an annual gathering of aviation industry leaders.

Doug Parker, the CEO of American Airlines, warned that ticket prices might increase due to the reduction of capacities that airlines are resorting to as a fuel cost cutting measure.

Fuel and fares are expected to increase, although the growth of air travel in 2018 is projected at 7%.

Jack Sheldon, who runs Jack’s Flight Club, advises making bookings through travel agencies, rather than booking directly with airlines, and at a certain time of year, when prices can be lower by as much as 30% than during the season.
