Cham Wings, a private Syrian airline, has failed to obtain a permit from the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia.

The company intended to launch a regular air service between Damascus and Belgrade by Airbus A320, with three flights a week, from June 1.

The Directorate hasn't yet commented on the decision to deny the request, and the exact reason is not known.

Mahan Air's request being processed

The Iranian airline Mahan Air, which cooperates closely with Cham Wings, has also filed a request for flights from Tehran to Belgrade. They are planned to begin on June 18. Mahan Air has not yet obtained the permit, and the procedure is in progress.
