RTB Bor exports 7,523 tons of copper in three months of 2018 – Goods worth USD 54.3 million sold abroad

RTB Bor sold goods worth USD 54.3 million in the foreign market in the first quarter of 2018, an increase by 34% compared to the same period in 2017, when the export amounted to USD 40.6 million.

The foreign exchange inflow in the first three months is better by a third thanks to an increase in the production at RTB Bor, an increase in the price of copper, but also of the constantly large demand for the “red metal” from the countries in the region, Kolektiv reports.

From January till March, 7,523 tons of copper were sold in the foreign market, which is 700 tons more than in the corresponding period of 2017. The quarterly production improved and RTB Bor’s foreign exchange inflow was higher by USD 13 million on that basis alone.

At the same time, the price of the “red metal” on the global market has recorded a slight upward trend, with minor oscillations. It was only in the second half of April, after a long time, that it exceeded the projected threshold of USD 7,000 per ton.

Copper sales revenues amounted to USD 15.35 last month, and the company earned an additional USD 763 million from the sale of palladium, selenium, sulfuric acid and bluestone and realized the export of a total of USD 16.1 million.

RTB Bor’s products were being sold during March in Poland, Germany, Turkey, Croatia, Italy, Bulgaria and Romania.
