Chinese company CMEC interested in building gas-powered thermal power plants in Serbia

China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) is very interested in building gas-powered thermal power plants in the towns in Serbia most struck by environmental pollution, the company's representatives announced on March 23 in Belgrade.

– In the upcoming weeks, CMEC will perform all the necessary detailed analyses in order to define the next steps in the realization of this project – Li Xujiang, representative of CMEC, said in his conversations with the president of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with Russia and China, Tomislav Nikolic.

Nikolic pointed out that he expected the preparation of a detailed project analysis to be followed by a proposition to be presented to the Government and the Serbian president.

– It is necessary for the National Development and Reform Commission of China to also be introduced to the project, so that the project would get the all-encompassing support of Chinese and Serbian officials – Nikolic said, as announced by his office.
