Strategic partnership of "Ikea" and "Simpo" – development of big furniture factory in Vranje in the pipeline

- Strategic partner for privatization of "Simpo" is the biggest European furniture factory "Ikea", and the big contract will be signed already in mid-2009 if everything goes as planned – said Dragan Tomić, President of company "Simpo", for “Novosti”.

- We are seeking strategic partners that are in the business. That is the guarantee that they will resume production and placement of our products in global market and enable further development of the company.

Tomić says that the plan is that “Simpo” and "Ikea", of which delegation visited Vranje this week, have a big furniture factory built by joint forces. Furniture from this factory should be exported into the countries all over Europe and world.

- My philosophy is that the factories should not be sold to the people who are not in the same business because that can not ensure survival. Such privatization could be devastating for that region in Serbia and the massive migration from the south could be resumed.
