As stated on the website of the Government of Serbia, Bjornstad pointed out that, in line with the talks the Serbian prime minister had during her visit to Oslo in November 2017, the Norwegian government had reached the decision to set aside NOK 61 million, that is EUR 6.3 million, from the budget as support to Serbia in 2018, instead of NOK 30 million (around EUR 3.1 million) that Serbia received in 2017.
Half of the funds will be put by Norway into the economic development of the poorest parts of Serbia.
Along with the said direct funds, Norway will continue providing support to Serbia through regional programs as well.
The ambassador confirmed to the Serbian prime minister that Erna Solberg, Norwegian prime minister, would make an official visit to Serbia in early July.
