Serbian health system 20th in Europe

As RTS learns, Serbia has advanced by four places on the ranking list of healthcare systems Euro Health Consumer Index (EHCI). In 2017, the country won 673 of one thousand points.

On the list of 35 countries, Serbia takes the 20th spot, sharing it with Italy.

Aside from Slovenia, all the other countries of the region placed lower.

Cyprus placed on the bottom of the list, whereas the Netherlands takes the top spot, with 924 points.


Among the countries with the best healthcare systems are Switzerland, Denmark and Norway.

Serbia made the biggest progress in the field of oncology therapy and radiotherapy, prevention of mental diseases and the development of the transplant program.
