Regular traffic on Bar railway established – Modernization of Resnik-Valjevo section completed

The modernization of the Resnik-Valjevo section, 77.6 kilometers long, on the international railway corridor Belgrade-Bar, was completed within deadline, and regular traffic was established on the route on November 14, the Infrastructure of the Serbian Railways announced.

The contracted value of the works amounted to USD 79.9 million, and they were financed with USD 80 million from the Russian loan meant for the modernization of Serbian railways.

The works started in July 2016, when it was announced that trains would be able to run at 120 km/h on the reconstructed railway, that is, that the travel time would be shortened from two hours and 20 minutes to 70-75 minutes.
