A food factory of the Nepalese CG Foods Europe, in which EUR 9 million was invested, officially opened in Ruma on October 5. The company operates as part of Chaudhary Group, and this is their first investment in Europe.

The factory, which will produce noodles and other semi-prepared pasta food products, started operating in September, when 100 workers were employed there. The plan is to have over 400 workers by the end of next year, whereas about 800 more would be employed later.

The opening was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, owner of the Nepalese company, Binod Chaudhary, Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic, president of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, and the president of the Municipality of Ruma, Sladjan Mancic.

Raw materials from Serbia will be used to produce noodles and other pastas, and the plan is to have the entire Europe supplied with the products made in Ruma.

Nepalese billionaire Chaudhary is among the 50 richest people in the world according to Forbes, and he also produces steel, cigarettes, technical devices, electricity and is active in construction and the hotel business.

CG Foods Europe owns 76,000 companies worldwide, and the opening was also attended by around 200 business partners of the Nepalese company.
