The first Russian low-cost airline, Pobeda, is interested in establishing flights from Serbia, more precisely, Nis, says the director of the Regional Development Agency “South”, Bojan Avramovic, as reported by Zona Plus.

– Negotiations have been in progress since last year. They said at the time that, due to a small number of airplanes, they were not able to expand their capacities – he says and adds that the managements of the Nis Airport and the city have not given up on it.

– The establishment of a flight to Moscow from Nis once or twice a week is currently being negotiated.

There are five flights a day from Belgrade to Moscow. Of those, at least one is filled with passengers from the south of Serbia, so there's no doubt that there's room for two flights a week from Nis to Moscow – he explains.

He adds that new flights to France, Norway, Italy and Turkey are also planned.
