At the recently held public procurement procedure for the construction, procurement and installation of LED lights and lighting management equipment in the territory of the municipality of Prijepolje, the job was awarded to a three-member consortium of companies from Ljubljana, Belgrade and Valjevo.

The value of the agreed project, which is to be financed over the next three years by the municipality, amounts to around RSD 71 million. The contract envisages the works to start with the installation of LED lighting in mid-September and for the job to be completed by the end of the year.

The companies which are to set up 2,700 street lights are Javna Razsvetljava Ljubljana, Minel-Schreder Belgrade and Elektrovolt Valjevo.

Nenad Plazincic said on behalf of the consortium that the investment would pay off in a time span of three years based on savings made in electricity expenditure.

– The job entails the replacement of around 2,700 street lights and is worth RSD 59.5 million plus VAT with 36 monthly repayment installments. Prijepolje will get modern, comfortable street lighting, and the costs of maintenance will be reduced by as much as 70% – said Plazincic, Sales Manager of Minel-Schreder Belgrade.

The funds from the budget meant for maintaining the old lighting and electricity consumption will be redirected over the next three years to financing the project, Mayor of Prijepolje Dragoljub Zindovic stated after the signing of the contract.

The realization of the investment will put a stop to frequent malfunctions, which often caused the center of the town to be in darkness for days.

The three companies in question were active in constructing and replacing LED lighting in Nova Varos in 2015. The guarantee period for each bulb is seven years.
