Vranje developing new locations for investors – Bunusevac to expand, construction activities in Smonica as well

Members of the Town Assembly of Vranje have adopted a draft decision on adopting the Detailed Regulation Plan of the Smonica settlement in Vranjska Banja, as well as the plans relating to the Industrial Zone in Bunusevac.

As said at the session, the Detailed Regulation Plan of Smonica is another step towards the development of the central part of this town municipality, in line with the General Regulation Plan of Vranjska Banja. According to Tanja Cvetkovic, representative of the Urban Planning Institute, the aim is to define the purpose of the area of 5.3 hectares as an area for production and service activities.

The area is located in the former spot of the warehouse of the Ministry of Defense, which was gifted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the special purpose facility caused a long wait for the requirements to be harmonized for the needs of adopting this planning document.

– The entire area is equipped infrastructurally, and one characteristic feature is that a raw water pipeline is located there, stretching from the Prvonek dam to the water factory. The existing electric power network is also available. The privately owned section allows for the formation of a parcel of at least 500 square meters – said Tanja Cvetkovic.

The detailed regulation plans for industrial zones Bunusevac 2 and Bunusevac 4 were also adopted at the session. Whereas Bunusevac 2 is to remain within its borders, Bunusevac 4 is to expand.

– The name itself says that this is a business-working zone, that is, an expansion of the Free Zone, which amounts to around 16 hectares. By adopting this decision and then by preparing and adopting the plan, we will be able to solve the property relations and terms for issuing location requirements and building permits – says Jovana Antic, head of the Department of urban planning, property relations and utility and residential activities.
