New Head of EU Mission to Serbia Sem Fabrizi assumes duty

Sem Fabrizi, the new Head of the Mission of the European Union to Serbia, assumed duty on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, succeeding Michael Davenport, the EU Info Point NS tweeted.

Sem Fabrizi was the Head of the EU Delegation to Australia until now.

The Italian diplomat pointed out in his earlier statements that he was optimistic regarding the future of the EU and that he believed that the European project couldn't be stopped, as there was a powerful will among Europeans to have the EU succeed, even though Brexit had introduced an element of uncertainty.

Davenport was appointed the head of the EU mission in Belgrade in June 2013, having previously been the UK Ambassador to Serbia for two years.
