– At the initiative of the Autonomous Trade Union, the “Independence” and “Solidarity” Union, as well as the strikers’ board, the request for increasing the gross salary base has been changed, as the employer has failed to adhere to the Law on Strike and the order by the labor inspection to negotiate about the strikers’ demands – Zoran Markovic, president of the Autonomous Trade Union of FCA Serbia, said for Beta.
According to him, the workers are now demanding the gross salary base to be raised from RSD 38,000 to RSD 50,000, instead of the initial demand of RSD 45,000.
– There haven’t been any official announcements of the beginning of negotiations, but unofficial rumors say that someone should allegedly arrive for the purpose of negotiating – Markovic said.
He believes that FCA Serbia, according to the regulations, must receive a monetary penalty due to the failure to adhere to the order of the labor inspection to start negotiating, as the 5-day period has expired.
The general strike at FCA Serbia in Kragujevac started four days ago, with two one-hour warning strikes held previously. According to the allegations of the unions, it is the production workers who are on strike, around 2,000, or 90%, of them.
Due to the strike at FCA Serbia, the production of Fiat 500L has been halted, and, according to the unions’ announcement, the production was also halted in the majority of the Kragujevac-based subcontractors on Thursday, June 29, 2017.
