Total of 24 companies interested in construction of dump in Pirot - submission of bids prior to July 21

Total of 24 companies, 13 of which from abroad, are interested in construction of the regional sanitarian dump in Pirot.

Assistant to the Mayor of Pirot for development projects and cooperation with the ministries and donors, Milorad Spasić, said that the potential contractors had showed great interest after recent presentation of the project and visit to the location of the future dump.

Besides local representatives, there were also representatives of companies from Austria, France, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Germany and Slovenia.

Sanitarian dump will be used by four municipalities from the Pirot region - Pirot, Bela Palanka, Dimitrovgrad and Babusnica. European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) will invest 3.8m EUR in that project, while Eco fund will provide 1.4m EUR.

- We gave certificates to everyone as the integral part of the offer that they can submit prior to July 21, 2008. We hope that implementation of this large project will start at the beginning of autumn - says Spasić, but he adds that he does not expect that all companies will submit complete documentation.
