Leskovac to get 80 kilometers of sewerage – Total value of ORIO project around EUR 7.92 million

The City of Leskovac is getting ready for the construction of a waste water collector and 80 kilometers of sewerage in Leskovac, and the total value of the ORIO project is around EUR 7.92 million.

– I expect that, if everything goes according to plan, we will start negotiating in a few months about signing an agreement worth around EUR 7 million and I hope that Leskovac might get around 80 kilometers of sewerage in a couple of years – said Dusko Krsmanovic, economic adviser of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Mayor Goran Cvetanovic expressed the preparedness of the local self-government to bring the Serbian law in line with the demands of the project, so that the decision on the donation would be positive, creating the conditions for entering the next phase of the realization of this significant project.

– I honestly believe and hope that, with what we've done so far, we've shown our readiness to realize this program, thereby improving our living environment and creating better conditions for maintaining the health of our fellow citizens – Cvetanovic said and pointed out that the development phase of this project had been completed successfully.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection will finance the 5-km collector by the end of the year, and the preparation of the technical documentation for this project is financed by the Government of Sweden as part of the Priority Environmental Infrastructure for Development (PEID) program.
