The city administration of Belgrade has opened a tender for the preparation of a project of reducing exhaust pipe emissions of public transport vehicles in the city's territory by implementing the ECO-DRIVING system.

ECO-DRIVING is an energy efficient vehicle utilization system which enables the reduction of the harmful impact of public transport on the environment, though reducing the emission of toxic gases (CO2, CO, NOx and SOx), extending the life cycle of a vehicle, as well as increasing traffic safety, including fuel savings and increased safety for all participants.

As stated, the surveys of air pollution in the territory of Belgrade made so far point to great amounts of pollution originating in traffic, as well as to the fact that the manner of driving can considerably reduce the emission of polluting matters. The project therefore aims to achieve the goals of improving environmental protection in Belgrade by improving traffic efficiency and safety.

The bid submission deadline is February 27.
