Among the ten biggest exporters in both realized agreements from 2015 and the contracted value in 2016 are companies like Jugoimport-SDPR, Prvi Partizan, Zastava Oruzje, Prva Petoletka, but also private companies like Partizan TECH D.O.O, Tehnoremont D.O.O, Uni Global D.O.O, Krupnik D.O.O, Eling A.D. and DLS Specijalni Sistemi D.O.O.
– The fact is that the demand for military equipment has been growing in the world in the past few years, which has also influenced the growth of the export of our producers, but also the traders who market the goods both from Serbian and foreign factories. Permits issued for 2016 exceed USD 800 million – the state secretary of the ministry, Stevan Nikcevic, said for Beta.
He added that neighboring countries were also recording a growth, and that “the end users are countries of the Middle East, Africa and Asia”.
– There have been no recorded cases of the arms' ending up in countries under embargo. Serbia is one of the leaders in transparency in selling arms, and our experts are the only ones outside the EU to have been invited to carry out training programs in other countries – Nikcevic said.
