Matijević definitely owner of "Galad" from Kikinda


The two-year agony of Agricultural company "Galad", which could be noticed in post-privatization period in multimillion losses expressed in euros, strikes, bans on entering the company directed to bosses and, finally, charges against majority owner of that Kikinda-based collective Živan Pejić from Ruma and another two of the employees, will finally be ended.
As Pero Gašić, recent director of "Galad" and owner of 16.01% of stocks, announced, Republic Privatization Agency gave agreement, in accordance with the changes in Law on Privatization, that the majority owners of "Galad" allot founding rights to Meat Industry "Matijević" from Novi Sad. Gašić said that the signing of the annex of the contract between the Privatization Agency and the businessman from Novi Sad, Petar Matijević, was expected soon, on the basis of which Meat Industry "Matijević" would officially take over "Galad".
During the last few months, Matijević used to announce possibility of takeover of "Galad" on several occasions, which will, definitely, happen. The latest turn in case of this company, which was everywhere in the newspapers for months, took place after Kikinda’s Police had pressed charges against Živan Pejić from Ruma, the owner of company "Frigo Žika" and the owner of 56.02% of stocks of "Galad", and Radivoje Živojinov from Kikinda, former manager of the slaughterhouse in "Galad".
The businessman from Novi Sad, Petar Matijević, said that he had decided to buy "Galad" because of mighty cattle breeding complex. He added that he would try to stabilize and cure the company whose losses exceeded €2.5m. He announced dismissal of excessive employees. Thus, Vojvodina-based "meat king", after he has purchased company "Zlatica" from Lazarevo, "Ravnica" from Bajmok and "Bezdan" from the namesake place, will add another agricultural company to his business empire.
