VUCIC: Serbia open for cooperation with Azerbaijan on new projects

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic assessed today that Azerbaijan and the company Azvirt had proven to be reliable partners in the Ljig-Preljina highway project and added that Serbia was open to cooperating with them on new projects.

– We are open for cooperation with Azerbaijan on new projects in Serbia and the region. This project will act as an important reference, as Azvirt has managed to complete a difficult section such as Ljig-Preljina in a quality manner and regardless of issues with local subcontractors – Vucic said, as reported by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia.

Vucic and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked to the Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev about the cooperation of the two countries on implementing infrastructural projects.

Mihajlovic thanked the Azerbaijani minister for a good cooperation of the two countries on the project of building 40 kilometers of the highway on Corridor 11.

– The successful realization of this project assures us that all the future projects carried out with our Azerbaijani partners will be as efficient and well done – Mihajlovic said.

It was pointed out that good political relations had been a prerequisite for a successful cooperation in the area of economy and that the cooperation with Azvirt would continue, since Serbia was looking at the realization of grand new infrastructural projects in the period ahead.
